Penpie DeFi protocol hack: $27 million in cryptocurrency stolen
In a recent incident, hackers stole $27 million worth of cryptocurrency from the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Penpie and received praise from other criminals. This incident has triggered in-depth thinking about cybersecurity and the crypto market.
On September 3, Penpie immediately suspended deposit and withdrawal operations after the attack. Less than 24 hours after the attack, the hacker sent $7 million in assets to the crypto mixer Tornado Cash for anonymization.
